1936
While operating a grocery store with his mother, Mr. Pasquale Gattuso (then called P. Gattuso Wholesale) starts representing various European food suppliers.
1946
Pasquale Gattuso entered the food manufacturing sector. Gattuso Corporation began manufacturing and importing such products as pasta, tomato paste, tomato sauce and various marinated products.
1956
After several years of intense market development and exceptional growth in the 1950s, the Gattuso brand name became a Canadian household staple. Gattuso Corporation employed more than 200 people.
1961
A new plant to opened in early 1961, and became the world's biggest center for processing and packing olives.
1967
Pasquale Gattuso sells his interest in Gattuso Corporation to further develop the import business under Gattuso Industries Ltd.
1985
Gattuso Industries acquires S.A.C. Import/Export, a company specialized in cheese imports.
1989
Gattuso Industries stream lined its list of products to focus on cheese importing.
1990
Gattuso Industries acquired the Canadian cheese import division of Campbell Soup Company Ltd.
1993
Pierre Gattuso succeeds Pasquale Gattuso as President of Gattuso Industries.
1995
Gattuso Industries makes the acquisition of the assets of William Berselli Ltd., specialized in cheese imports.
1998
Acquisition of 37 percent of the shares of La Fromagerie L'Ancêtre Inc., manufacturer of organic cheese.
1999
Gattuso Industries decides to sell its shares back to Fromagerie L’Ancêtre to launch its own projects in the organic sector.
2001
Pierre Gattuso is named member of the security committee of the Conseil des appellations agro-alimentaires du Quebec for organic food.
2004
Launching of a new line of organic products under the trade-mark Biobio.
2005
becomes Gattuso inc.
2009
Launching of a new image for the line of organic products under the trade-mark biobio.
2010
Frédéric Gattuso, représentant un membre de la 4e génération de la famille, à se joindre à l’entreprise.
2011
The corporation celebrates 75 years of excellence in the Canadian market. Launching of Grok cheese snacks.
2012
Gattuso Inc. becomes the majority shareholder of Nutri Impact Inc., a food brokerage company (previously known as Consultant AFC inc.)
2014
Biobio launches a new packaging and adds several cheeses to the line of products.
2016
Gattuso celebrates its 80th year in the food business.
2022
Gattuso opens a new Ingredients division
